Photonics Cluster (UK), located at Birmingham Science Park Aston in the heart of the Birmingham was formed in 2000 and is located on the Science Park in the heart of Birmingham. The organisation has successfully completed projects with over 600 companies and has leveraged funding to assist the industry. Photonics Cluster (UK) works with clients in photonic applications ranging from the infra-red through to the visible and the ultra-violet in industries as diverse as transport, defence and security, medical and food sciences, ICT, precision engineering and Research & Development Assistance communications. The focus for the organisation is in providing the clients with routes to technology, routes to skills, routes to funding and finance, and realising the benefits provided by the significant knowledge bank built up over several years.
