On the 3rd of December a comprehensive course presenting the challenges of measuring and designing LED luminaires took place and attracted a total of 38 design engineers and CTOs from the industry. The course covered the measurement of total light output, total light output as a function of angle, measurement of LED colour and colour rendering. The course will also went through the design and issues relating to LED optics and how effective driver design can improve LED lifetime and performance. The practical day on the 4th December completed the training with a hands-on approach illustrating how the measurements tie into energy efficiency.
