Through our business management skills and network of global partner organisations, the Science Park is able to provide access to a wide range of business development opportunities and support for early stage technology companies and existing businesses.

Birmingham Science Park Aston has developed a range of value added services intended to support companies in their business growth and development.

Business Development
We will work in partnership with you to develop your business. You will be able to access specialist support to develop your future growth and development.

To facilitate this process the Science Park has in place a business development team focused on the delivery of a range of value added support services. Birmingham Science Park Aston’s dedicated Business Development Team are are in place to assist technology businesses develop their ambitions:

Birmingham Science Park Aston is active in supporting our tenant businesses engage with the financial community.  Finance is a core topic for any business and therefore we feel it is important to provide further information on topics such as this. We provide the opportunity to meet financiers as well as hearing from speakers discuss issues such as raising finance, grants and how to approach the banks through to the venture capital community.

Leading consortia and writing bids to secure EU funding.

Offsets
A pilot project with the Defence Manufacturers Association to help UK companies benefit by accessing Offset funding whereby industrial compensation to the buyer’s local economy is achieved when placing defence contracts with an overseas company.


Promoting access to early stage equity funding

Business Angel Funding Syndicate
We are working with Business Angels groups to establish a dedicated syndicate of business angels that will work with selected innovators to invest in and help establish new early stage high-tech companies wishing to base themselves, primarily, but not exclusively, at Birmingham Science Park Aston.

Venture Capital
We are working to bring a new venture capital group to Birmingham Science Park Aston that wishes to focus on early stage investments and that is willing to work with angel investors to build high growth businesses.

Promoting the value of equity investment
Education programmes promoting the value of venture capital in stimulating company growth.
