Birmingham Science Park Aston (BSPA), formerly Aston Science Park, was founded in 1982 and has been one of the premier Science Parks in the UK ever since. At a time when the knowledge economy is seen as a key factor in moving the UK out of recession, Birmingham Science Park Aston has redirected its strategy and rebranded itself as a clear statement of its intent to drive a range of new initiatives to promote the region’s knowledge economy.

BSPA is now wholly owned by Birmingham City Council and works in partnership with the Council to help shape and drive innovation-led regeneration within the City and the region. BSPA offers the ‘opportunity to innovate through partnership’. It is actively looking to work with and bring together the public and private sectors, creating interfaces for people with ideas, people with technologies, people with expertise and experience and people with money. In this way BSPA will help and support entrepreneurs deliver their commercial aspirations. BSPA is not looking to compete, or re-invent the wheel, so is keen to develop new partnerships with individuals and organisations in all aspects of its offering; this includes the innovation centres and Science Parks within the region and beyond.
